Boat owners and their guests on Kinderhook Lake are reminded that NYS Boating Law requires navigation lights to be displayed on all powered watercraft between sunset and sunrise.
Navigation lights include:
- One RED fore-port sidelight,
- One GREEN fore-starboard sidelight, and
- An all-around WHITE light at the rear of the boat at least three feet above the fore sidelights.
In addition, speed is regulated by the Town of Kinderhook at no more than 5 mph between sunset and sunrise.
Please be sure that your navigation lights are properly displayed at night and that your speed is kept to less than 5 mph.
