Tomorrow, 3/30, the sluice gate will be closed and the flashboards added to the top of the dam spillway. The lake level will start to rise to summer levels. As always, the speed of the rise will be weather dependent. See you out there soon!

You are invited to participate in a short survey as part of the research study by Amanda Setteducate from the Lake Management Masters Program at SUNY Oneonta. The purpose of the survey is to gather information on stakeholder concerns about Kinderhook Lake and is specifically targeted to those individuals and families who use Kinderhook Lake recreationally. A reminder that on October 15th, the dam sluice gate will be opened wide to begin lowering the level of the lake. As approved by DEC, the lake is lowered approximately 4.5-feet in order to protect shoreline areas and docks from ice damage over the winter and early spring. Regardless of the drawdown, please keep in mind that water and ice levels may vary over the winter and spring depending on weather conditions. Therefore, we strongly recommend that if you have any shoreline maintenance projects planned, that they are completed this fall. The lake will be raised back to summer levels in early spring after all the ice melts.
