A reminder that on October 15th, the dam sluice gate will be opened wide to begin lowering the level of the lake. As approved by DEC, the lake is lowered approximately 4.5-feet in order to protect shoreline areas and docks from ice damage over the winter and early spring. Regardless of the drawdown, please keep in mind that water and ice levels may vary over the winter and spring depending on weather conditions. Therefore, we strongly recommend that if you have any shoreline maintenance projects planned, that they are completed this fall. The lake will be raised back to summer levels in early spring after all the ice melts.
